Pearl Izumi’s Maverick 2 in 1 Shorts are for those looking for a boxer brief liner for running without sacrificing performance.
INTIAL IMPRESSION & TESTING
The Maverick shorts fit snug. The liners feel like they are compression shorts. So, for those wanting a relaxed feel, you will need to size-up. PI’s ELITE fabric is very soft and lightweight. The shorts only weigh 4.65 oz (131.8 grams). The boxer brief liners are constructed of Minerale™ which provides optimal moisture transfer, faster dry time and odor absorption. The shorts have a drawcord on the inside and contain one zippered pocket on the back that can hold 3 GUs without weighing the shorts down. I had no issues with chafing with the boxer brief liners. The Maverick performed great on the trials in wet and dry conditions. The only thing I would want is built-in extra mesh pockets on both side of the back zippered pocket to store more running essentials on those longer training run.

The Pearl Izumi Maverick 2 in 1 Shorts are lightweight, very breathable with a boxer brief liner. The liners are snug so size up if you like your liner a little loose.
