Dr. Mihály Csikszentmihályi describes flow as being “completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action, movement, and thought follows inevitably from the previous one…Your whole being is involved, and you’re using your skills to the utmost”.

Wow!  How do we bottle that and release it on race day?

  • I’m midway through this episode now. Another good read on this topic is Steven Kotler’s “The Rise of Superman”, which examines how individuals in various athletic domains have achieved flow, how they set the stage to enter flow states with more regularity, the downside of flow, etc.
